Weekly Meetings - The Heart of Rotary Membership
Each Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), Providence Rotarians gather at the Marriott for our regular luncheon meetings.
The scheduled start time is 12:15, however most members like to arrive at noon for socializing.
Rotarians are outgoing people, eager to welcome and
share experiences with new members.

The brief business part of the meeting includes updates on coming club events, announcements of opportunities for members to take part in various service activities, and the very popular Happy Bucks where members contribute a dollar (or more as they choose) for the opportunity to tell the rest of us what is making them happy at the moment. In Happy Bucks we learn about members' business accomplishments, family milestones and feelings on just about any topic you could imagine.
The final part of the meeting is a presentation by a guest speaker. The Program Committee does a great job in bringing us interesting speakers on a wide variety of topics. Our speakers have included David Dooley, president of the University of Rhode Island; Deborah Gist, the Rhode Island Commissioner of Education; Gina Raimondo, General Treasurer, State of Rhode Island; Colin Kane, Chair of RI-95 relocation committee; the general manager of RIPTA; the director of Trinity Rep; political candidates for mayor, governor and congress, the Rhode Island insurance commissioner, the founder of Providence Community Library and much more to be scheduled. The topics are always timely and of great interest to members.
Meetings end promptly at 1:30.
