Our 100th Birthday
Founded in 1911 as the 22nd club in what is now Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Providence has a proud history of fellowship and service to the community. The men and women of our club come from all occupations and professions, drawn together by a desire to be with and work with others who share their interests.
Our club is one of the most progressive clubs in the United States. We are innovative, energetic and enthusiastic!
As a Rotarian, you can get involved in organizing social events, working hands-on to help disadvantaged children in Providence, planning and raising funds for service projects in other countries, writing the club newsletter, or any of dozens of other activities involving hunger, homelessness, literacy, health and more.
Our club initiated a Lyme disease advocacy and awareness program, the first in Rotary. We are beginning an Alzheimer's disease education program for our community. We give every Providence third grader a dictionary every year. We mentor students from local schools and we have a job shadow program. We are hosting an MBA student from Germany. We support programs for hunger and homelessness. We've built houses, donated books for the prison library and diapers for babies. We provided emergency shelter to thousands of Haitians after the 2010 earthquake and water filters to Dominican Republic families to ensure clean and safe water.
And that is just the beginning! There is an activity of interest for everyone.
What is your passion? Let's discover the passion and make things happen.
