INSPIRATION - Richard Applebaum
“With the world in turmoil with Ukraine, Russia, China North Korea and Iran all making us worried, we need the wisdom of real leaders who did the right thing in spite of the risks that confronted them. As I look around the world, I find that true leadership is often lacking both here and abroad.

Perhaps the leader in the 20th century that I most admired was Winston Churchill and he has blessed us with a litany of quotable quotes. For example here are some words of his wisdom:"
  • “All of the greatest things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word, such as: Freedom; Justice; Honor; Duty; Mercy; Hope.”
  • “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is courage to continue that counts.”
  • “The price of greatness is responsibility.”
  • “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
  • “Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.”
  • “In finance, everything that is agreeable is unsound and everything that is sound is disagreeable.”
  • “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
  • “The true guide of life is to do what is right.”
By the way Winston Churchill was a member of the Rotary Club of London
