Peter Arpin, a fifth generation Arpin whose company brought in $180 million last year, spoke about the establishment of Arpin Renewal Energy in 2009 to manage and implement green initiatives in Arpin’s subsidiaries. It is the first R&D company in the moving and storage industry to develop green technologies for the transportation industry.

Since its beginnings in 1900, Arpin has continually evolved and adapted to the times. Change is constantly on their minds. Peter believes that we CAN control our effect on the environment. Our time and resources are limited. We are part of the problem; we can be part of the solution.

Arpin is now using solar batteries on their trucks so they don’t have to idle, are paperless and have implemented other green initiatives. With more efficiency and less power use, there will be less environmental harm. They have received an award from the Audubon Society for their work in this area.
