Speaker
Diana Franchitto, president and CEO of Hope-Health Hospice & Palliative Care, serving Rhode Island and Massachusetts
At HopeHealth, Ms. Franchitto facilitated an academic affiliation to become the major teaching affiliate for hospice and palliative medicine of the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. In addition, Ms. Franchitto established hospice and palliative care partnerships with health care systems, nursing homes, home health agencies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Dr. Edward Martin, Chief Medical Officer of HopeHospice, explained the difference between palliative and hospice care. Palliative care is the treatment phase. Hospice treats patients in their last months of life.
HopeHealth is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Former Rotarians George Babcock and Arthur Robbins were stalwart supports of HopeHealth.
