Providence Rotary Club is working with Inspiring Minds to start up tutoring again at Kizirian Elementary Schools. We are in need of members willing to sign up in December. Tutoring will be in two formats. Members can start immediately in the classrooms after orientation. Or if they are travelling or have health concerns, they can start a pen pal relationship with a student and possibly transition to the classroom at a later date.

 

A pen pal is a twice a month commitment, and will be handled by the teacher and Inspiring Minds. No direct communication will be involved.

 

This tutoring is really important to help kids left behind in the pandemic. Caring and encouraging them can help them stay the course with tough academics. We are hoping for at least ten tutors from the club to emphasize our commitment to literacy in a hands on way.
