The Rotaract Club has created a new campaign to raise money for polio and it’s gotten attention from Rotary International. Once you have been vaccinated – give to the Polio Plus campaign so a child can get vaccinated.

Legends for Literacy – Pete Brock announced that the decision was made to go for an in-person event. No zoom gala – to be held mid to late October.

Anthony Hollingshead for good news about Jackie Gourd – she’s doing well and looking forward to returning to in-person meetings.
Richard Applebaum – for completing his two vaccinations and one for those folks wanting to get vaccinated that will soon be able to.
Kris David – watching Outlander on Netflix and there is a character with the surname Gilcreast. Jim informed us all that his surname means “servant of Christ.”
Don Saracen is also happy that he and Cherie have completed their vaccines.
Walter Adamowicz gave a happy buck for his third Blue Ray treatment for skin cancer.
OLNEYVILLE KIDS CREATING ORIGINAL THEATER
Guest speaker Meg Sullivan updated us on the Manton Avenue Project, where she has been executive artistic director since 2011.
The Manton Avenue Project’s mission is to nurture the unique potential of young people in the Olneyville section of Providence by unleashing their creative voices and uniting them with professional artists to create original theatre. MAP is committed to presenting quality educational experiences for lower income young people, starting as young as third grade – up to grade 12.
Through playmaking, MAP sparks an expanding sense of possibility by building each child’s capacity for personal and academic success and offers opportunities for positive youth development. MAP has professionally produced over 700 plays written by under-resourced youth (with the help of over 500 volunteer artists), with the goal of empowering young voices and giving young people tools to become tomorrow’s creative thinkers and community leaders...
