Dave shared profiles of his work with immigrants who have relocated to the Rhode Island community.
One a refugee from Aleppo, Syria who spent time in refugee camps before emigrating to the U.S. He is currently working as a manufacturing trainer in Rhode Island.
The second is a licensed healthcare worker who migrated to the U.S. from Mali. She is currently serving in the food manufacturing industry and works as a kitchen trainer.
And another is a 20-year-old refugee from Iraq who arrived in the U.S. on the Iraq Airlift. He is currently applying to CCRI to further his education.

Pete Brock encouraged all to volunteer to participate in the planning and preparation of the annual fundraiser. A conference call is scheduled as a zoom meeting for the committee chairs for Thursday, August 4

Robin Singer, Falmouth Rotary Club is starting a pen pal program for younger students who already know some English at Hosta Memorial Freedom School in Nepal. Asmita is a new teacher at the school. She is allowing us to use her email address to help the communication between students and pen pals. Email communications once a month. If interested in joining this pen pal program contact Robin Singer at
msrobinsinger@gmail.com. Note: Providence Rotary has provided solar panels to upgrade the school’s wifi.

Ted Nesi is on the WPRI News Team as the Politics and Business Editor, and a Target 12 Investigative Reporter. He writes a weekly column - Nesi’s Notes, and he co-hosts the Newsmakers program. He gave a brief resume of his work life and then got into the upcoming Congressional district One special election.

- There is no public polling in the Democratic primary. Reporters relying more on private polling per telephone outreach.
