The Work of the United Way of RI

Cortney M. Nicolato is president and CEO of United Way of RI, a statewide nonprofit that provides the 211 hotline, the front door to social services in the state; advocacy; fundraising; and grantmaking.  Last year the United Way awarded $4.7 million to 84 nonprofit agencies in support of programs for childhood literacy, workforce development and more. Under her leadershp, the organization's focus is on the root causes of poverty and suffering in RI.
